According to preliminary details, around 9:30 pm the patrolmen responded to a call about a woman screaming on the beach. When they found her, she informed them that she saw another woman go into the water with two young kids.

Eyal Guetta, who heads the patrol crew, told Ynet that the mother and the kids were 40-50 meters inside the water. The patrolmen urged her to come out, but she ignored them and continued to walk deeper into the sea. It was then that the officers went after them. The kids, who swallowed some water, coughed and vomited upon being brought back to dry land.
He noted that some of the patrolmen were lightly injured by the rocks on the beach.
The officers later searched the mother's car and found a letter, written in Arabic, describing the hardship that she had faced.
The mother was taken to a local police station, and social workers from Nazareth have been charged with looking after her children. The police said that in all likelihood the woman won't be questioned on Tuesday due to her state of distress.
A similar case was reported in 2008, when another woman, Olga Borisov, drowned her 4-year-old son on the beach in Bat Yam. She was sentenced to eight years in prison. Last month she petitioned the Supreme Court to allow her to visit her son's grave.
Last year, Marie Pizem and Ronny Ron were sentenced to life in prison for their roles in the death of the 4-year-old Rose Pizem. The girl, whose body was found in a suitcase in the Yarkon River in 2008, was Marie Pizem's daughter and Ron's granddaughter.
That same year, Regina Kruchkov drowned her son, also 4, in a basin.
