Iron Dome in action
The Gaza-based terror groups continued relentlessly shelling Israel's southern communities Monday.
In the early hours of the evening air raid sirens and the Color Red alert sounded across the Gaza vicinity communities and the western Negev.

One of the Iron Dome batteries deployed in the sector engaged seconds later, intercepting two rockets fired at the city of Ofakim.

A third rocket exploded in an open area in the western Negev. No injuries or damage were reported.
Hopes of a possible Egypt-brokered ceasefire were rattled in the morning hours, when a rocket barrage hit south and Gaza vicinity communities.
Two Grad rockets were fired at Netivot, hitting a private resident and a local factory and causing serious property damage.
Soon after, five rockets were fired at the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. Iron Dome successfully intercepted one. At the same time, three mortar shells hit open areas in the Eshkol Regional Council. No damage or injuries were reported.
Magen David Adom crews in the south treated 47 people since the recent round of escalation started Saturday, mostly for shrapnel injuries and shock.
