Brig. Gen. Ofek Buchris released from IDF, will stand trial as civilian
Brigadier General Ofek Buchris, who has been indicted for rape, asked to be discharged from the IDF immediately on Sunday, so that he may stand trial as a civilian, and not an active-duty IDF officer.
IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot accepted his request, and Buchris was officially discharged Sunday evening.
