Thousands expected at Gaza rally

Organizers say 20,000 protestors to arrive at Gush Katif; settler leaders and rabbis to attend

GAZA - Thousands of protestors are expected to take part in an ant-disengagement demonstration in Gush Katif Monday night.

 

Organizers say they expect about 20,000 pullout objectors to arrive, including settlers and Israelis who live within the Green Line.

representatives and rabbis will also attend the demonstration.

 

About 200 buses will be bringing protestors to the event from all across the country. Gush Katif children are also expected to take part in the demonstration and will come on stage carrying torches.

 

As Ynet reported, the Yesha Council has presented a new orange bracelet as part of its campaign for a national referendum on the disengagement plan. The bracelet will be offered for sale during Monday’s event.

 

Meanwhile, Kibbutz members who also opposed the Gaza pullout plan will hold their own demonstration in northern Israel at 18:00 local time Monday.
