The song "Keilu Kan" (As If Here) was picked Tuesday to represent Israel at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Serbia.

The song was composed by Dana International, the former Israeli winner of the European contest, and Shai Kerem, and will be performed by this year's winner of "A Star is Born", Boaz Mauda.

"Keilu Kan" was chosen out of a selection of five songs by several judges and by Israeli viewers who sent in text messages.

Israel will compete in the first Eurovision semi-final on May 20.
