The Israeli army carried out a cross-border raid near Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip Tuesday, demolishing a three-story house, Palestinians witnesses said.
Army forces backed up by tanks penetrated 500 meters inside Palestinian territory and used a bulldozer to knock down the house, the witnesses said. They made no mention of any Palestinian injuries.
Military officials said the structure was used by terrorists to open fire at civilians working on the Israeli side of the security fence earlier in the day. The structure had been used in the past to attack Israeli targets.
During the activity Palestinians opened fire at the soldiers, who returned fire. No injuries were reported. The IDF said it would continue to operate in Palestinian territory as long as the terror activity persists.
On Sunday Palestinians in Gaza launched mortar shells and RPG missiles at IDF soldiers operating near Kibbutz Nahal Oz. There were no injuries among the soldiers, who returned fire. The Palestinians said a number of gunmen were hit.
