Suspects say found Kalantarov dead outside house

Probe into death of seven-year-old boy to continue Monday. Police say 24-year-old twins suspected of murder claim they found boy's dead body outside their house

After receiving initial findings from the autopsy of seven-year-old Leon Kalantarov who was murdered last week, police plan to step up their investigation, and fear that the boy was sexually assaulted remains.

The suspects, twins Adir and Naor Sudmi from Kalantarov's community of Bnei Ayish, deny killing the boy, and will be questioned again.

Ynet has learned that according to the suspects, they found the boy's body outside their house. However, police say they found Kalantarov's lifeless body wrapped in nylon under the twins' bed.

According to a police source, over the weekend each one of the twins gave a different version of where the body was found outside the house. But after a meeting with their lawyer, their stories were united.

Police seized the Sudmi family's computer to examine whether it has pornographic images of minors in it. So far, no such images were found, but dozens of ICQ addresses were found, and police are looking into whether these addresses belong to minors who were in contact with the 24-year-old twins who suffer from mental retardation.

According to an autopsy of the boy's body, Kalantarov was not raped prior to his death. However, police are examining DNA found at the scene.

Welfare Ministry investigators will question the twins Monday morning. It should be noted that the law forbids police investigators to be involved or present during the questioning of mentally retarded suspects.

Therefore, police will not be present in the interrogation room, but will give the welfare workers clear questions to ask the twins, and may listen in using earphones.

All questioning sessions are filmed and documented by the police.

The twins were not questioned on Saturday because police were waiting for the initial autopsy results. The suspect's attorney, Yaron Forer said the twins were in a difficult emotional state and all they wanted was to go home.
