Good news for ABBA fans: "Mamma Mia!", the musical based on the successful Swedish pop group's songs, is returning to Israel this summer.

The production will arrive in the Holy Land in August for 16 shows at the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center as part of its 2015 world tour.

ABBA, which was active from 1972 to 1982, was one of the most internationally popular pop groups of all time, topping the charts in Europe, North America and Australia. Most of its songs were composed by band members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

The musical premiered in London in 1999 and has since been watched by tens of millions of people in some 80 cities around the world. It was first performed in Israel at Tel Aviv's Nokia Arena in 2007 and was considered a big success.

The ticket sales begin this Wednesday at 9 am. The musical will be performed in Israel from August 20 to September 5. It is being brought to Israel by producers Mark Lieberberg, Shmuel and Yoav Zemach and Shuki Weiss.
