'Chandelier' singer Sia to perform in Israel

Singer-songwriter who sang mega-hits 'Chandelier' and 'Titanium' and whose performances are often intriguingly eccentric will likely play Tel Aviv in May,

Singer-songwriter Sia, the voice behind such hits as "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart", is to have her first concert in Israel this year, Ynet was told on Tuesday. The concert will likely take place in Tel Aviv's Yarkon Park in late May.

The Australian musician, born Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, began garnering attention for her work with electronic ensemble Zero 7, and later for collaborations with DJ and producer David Guetta, all the while releasing solo albums.

In March 2014, her "Chandelier", from her sixth album, became a monster hit, partly propelled by the music video, which featured 11-year-old dancer Maddie Ziegler and has, as of January 2016, been viewed more than a billion times on YouTube.

Sia, who usually wears a mask in her public appearances and concerts, continued to find success with follow-up singles "Elastic Heart" and "Big Girls Cry". She has written songs for several artists over the years, including Rihanna, for whom she wrote the mega-hit "Diamonds".

She's also written for Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Flo Rida, Afrojack, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Kesha, Rita Ora, Britney Spears, Jessie J, and Celine Dion. In 2014, she made the list of Australia's 100 wealthiest people under 40, according to BRW Magazine.
