You are right about not having bible study in public school, but you are free to practice your religion in school. There is no " Koran study" group or "bible study group in your school, as there is a seperation of church and state, which means that the school cannot promote religious learning in their school. If you want to have religious text studies in your school, go to a private one, but you are still allowed to practice your religion, no matter what that may be..

I am the Mayor of the Kaikoura District and like everyone I have spoken to regarding the sign published here and displayed publicly I am extremely upset and angry. I am taking legal and police steps to have the sign removed and I will be looking into making a complaint to the Human Rights Commission in NZ. If it is proven an illegal act then the bar owners lisence could well be jeapordised and will certainly be closely scrutinised.
