Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman blasted the Palestinian Authority for what he called its leaders' empty rhetoric vis-à-vis terror.
"The events of recent days prove that the Palestinian rhetoric professing that they have abandoned terror in favor on diplomacy in as removed from reality as Ramallah is from the UN building in New York City," Lieberman said on Saturday.

"The Palestinians are devoid of proper leadership and the only thing that unites Hamas rulers in Gaza Strip and the PA rulers in Ramallah is their hatred for Israel," he said.
Also Saturday, and on the backdrop of a new diplomatic crisis which may be brewing with Egypt, the foreign minister has called for an urgent meeting of senior Foreign Ministry officials, following Cairo's announcement that it was recalling its ambassador to Israel.
The announcement – carried by Cairo's state-run TV – said that the decision stemmed from Egypt's furor over Thursday's border incident, which left five Egyptian security forces dead.
Lieberman intends to meet with his staff on Saturday night, in order to review the matter and devise the proper response.
