Police arrested a 33-year-old Eritrean migrant on Thursday, for allegedly luring a 40-year-old woman into an abandoned building in Tel Aviv under the pretence of needing help with his baby, and then raping her.
An initial police investigation indicates that the suspect approached the women, who was walking around one of Tel Aviv's southern neighborhoods on her own and asked her to assist him with his baby.

After the woman agreed to help the man, the suspect led her to an abandoned building where he raped her, while his friend kept guard at the door. The woman was later taken to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.
The suspect has denied raping the woman. He claimed that it was his friend who raped her and then fled the scene.
The case will be brought to a judge on Thursday while police are still searching for the other suspect.
According to the woman's police complaint, the suspect dragged her into an abandoned building with the help of another man. He then raped her while his friend attempted to attack her as well. She said that her screaming eventually drove the two away.
During the investigation, police arrived to the building with the woman, and shortly after located one of the suspects. According to the police, evidence supporting the woman's version of the events was found at the site. Police further said that the woman sustained several injuries during the attack.
This incident follows a series of sexual assaults on women in south Tel Aviv.
A similar incident occurred in June when police arrested a 30-year-old Eritrean migrant who was suspected of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in the waters off a Tel Aviv beach. Just three months ago, two foreign citizens were charged with raping and trying to sodomize a 19-year-old girl in a south Tel Aviv parking lot.
