"When I watched your interview with Diane Sawyer, I was amazed by your courage and determination to live your life as you please," Tel Aviv Council Member Yaniv Waizman, who is in charge of the LGBT community portfolio in the city, wrote to Jenner on behalf of the Tel Aviv Municipality.
"The fact that you opened a window into your life and revealed the personal and complex process you had gone through, and the difficulties standing in your way, has turned you into a source of inspiration for us in Tel Aviv.
"After learning about the process you went through, there have been many calls in the LGBT community to invite you to take part in Tel Aviv-Jaffa's pride events as the community's guest of honor."
Tel Aviv kicked off its gay pride events last week. The traditional Pride Parade, which attracts tens of thousands of participants every year, many of them tourists, will take place next weekend. This year, the municipality decided to hold the parade under the banner "Tel Aviv Loves all Genders."
The municipality is now waiting for Caitlyn Jenner's response to the invitation.
