In memory of Staff Sgt. Adam Agmon: Unconditional love, simplicity and triple strength
Staff Sgt. Adam Agmon, a fighter and commander in the Paratroopers Brigade, was killed in battle at Kissufim on Oct. 7, 2023. He was 22. Adam was born in New Zealand while his family was there on a Zionist mission, and from childhood he was known for his warmth, love of sports and instinct to give to others.
Before enlisting, Adam spent a challenging year volunteering at Ahuzat HaYeladim in Haifa, a residential program for at-risk youth, where he proved to be a sensitive and devoted mentor who quickly earned the trust and affection of those in his care. He later chose to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade, where he became known as a professional, humble and dedicated commander who combined high standards with empathy, attentiveness and deep concern for his soldiers.
On Saturday, Oct. 7, while stationed at his base, Adam deployed with his unit to assist and rescue residents of communities near the Gaza border. After encountering the aftermath of the massacre near the Nova music festival, they continued on to Kissufim. There, while engaging the terrorists and defending civilians, Adam was killed in battle alongside his commanders.
His family and loved ones remember Adam as someone who knew how to live simply, with authenticity, warmth and an openhearted love for others. His father has urged people to honor Adam’s memory by living with greater strength and generosity: “Live with triple strength: once for yourselves, once for Adam and once for the families.”
