Another housekeeper sues Sara Netanyahu
Yedioth Ahronoth reports that two months before former Netanyahu housekeeper filed lawsuit, case filed by another employee. Gag order imposed on details of suit
Two months before Lillian Peretz sued Sara Netanyahu, another employee filed a similar case against the household, according to a report Monday in Yedioth Ahronoth. A gag order has been imposed on the case, but the report did say that the content of the suit filed as well as the geographic distance between where they were filed suggests that the two housekeepers filed their suits independently from one another.
Shaya Segel, the Netanyahu family's media advisor, reported to the newspaper that he is not permitted to respond to the report because of the gag order in place at the behest of the prosecutor. The complainant's lawyer also said that she does not wish to respond to the report.
A former housekeeper in the Netanyahu's family home in Caesarea filed a suit against the prime minister's wife, Sara 10 days ago in the Tel Aviv Labor Court.
"Sara Netanyahu abused me, paid me a salary lower than minimum wage, did not pay me social benefits, forced me to work on Saturdays despite the fact that I am Shabbat-observant, and forced me to call her 'Mrs. Sara Netanyahu,'" Peretz, who worked in the Netanyahu home from January 2004 to July 2009, asserted.
After the suit was filed, Peretz claimed that her she received a death threat. About a week ago, she filed a complaint with Hadera Police that she received a telephone call from a man who threatened her and gave her 12 hours to withdraw her case against the prime minister's wife. According to Peretz, the call was disconnected immediately after the threat was made.
The suit was filed on behalf of Peretz, 44, married, and mother of four, by Attorney Assaf Sharaf and Attorney Shay Lavi. It detailed Peretz's version of what she endured as an employee of the prime minister's wife for six years. It describes in detail the personal relationship that developed between Sara and Lillian, which the latter claims created complete emotional and financial dependence on the former.
Lillian also claimed that Sara forbade her from drinking mineral water from the cooler installed in the Netanyahu home, ordered her to bring food from home, and would scream at her if she placed cleaning supplies on the floor while she cleaned the house.
