'Odelia was the life of the party'

The Tel Aviv bombing death toll rose to five on Monday, after 26-year old Odelia Hobera from Jerusalem died from her injuries.

Dozens of family and friends gathered at the Hobera family home to pay their last respects.

Odelia's brother Alon, told Ynetnews she lived life to the fullest and loved parties.

"She always organized the family events and was the life of the party," he said. "Ironically, she died in a place which best characterized her."

Odelia had helped her friend Revital organize the surprise party for Revital's husband, Yaron, at the Stage nightclub, and also helped her choose presents for his birthday.

When Odelia realized the club was still closed, she sent Revital a text message at 11:15 P.M. Three minutes later the suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to the club.

Alon said he was also invited to the party, but could not make it because of reserve duty. Yaron called him moments after he heard about the bombing, Alon said.

"Yaron told me my sister Odelia and another friend were lightly injured and were on their way to the hospital," he said. "We went through hours of hell, with the drive and searching for her, because Odelia was defined as anonymous." 

Odelia had planned to meet her boyfriend in the U.S. in April.

The four other victims - Yitzhak (Itzik) Buzaglo, 40, of Mishmar Hayarden, Yael Aurbach, 28, of Rehovot, Aryeh (Arik) Nagar, 37, of Kfar Sava and Ronen Reubenov, 30, of Tel Aviv - were laid to rest Sunday.

More than 22 people remain hospitalized.

'Will not tolerate terror attacks'

Terror attacks against Israel would not be tolerated,

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said in an exclusive interview published Monday in the British newspaper The Independent.

Abbas is presently in London for a two-day visit in order to participate in an international conference on Middle East affairs.

Following the Tel Aviv bombing, Abbas came under Israeli pressure to take tougher steps against armed militant terror factions.

"There may be other parties that want to destabilize the situation," he said hinting at possible foreign involvement in the nightclub bombing. "It's necessary to deal with the party responsible for the planning."

Abbas said in the interview he is eager to advance negotiations on a lasting settlement with Israel.

"We believe peace is possible now and we are ready to negotiate with Israel to reach a true and lasting peace based on justice and international legitimacy," he said. "We have an opportunity and it would be irresponsible if we, the Israelis, or the world allow it to slip away."

The conference is to be hosted by Prime Minister Tony Blair and attended by Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, and foreign ministers from 23 countries.
