Administrative Detention
None
Administrative detention refers to a procedure in Israel in which individuals, often Arab terror suspects, are held without any charges being filed or a trial being held. A detention order specifies a term of detention that can be renewed, and this process can continue indefinitely.
While thousands of Palestinians have been placed in administrative detention over the years, less than a dozen Israelis living in West Bank settlements have also been held.
Human rights organizations, such as Amnesty International and B'Tselem, condemn the practice.
