AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) is a pro-Israel lobby group based in the United States. AIPAC lobbies the Congress on behalf of Israeli interests. Its membership includes both Jews and non-Jews.
Despite its name, AIPAC is not a political action committee (PAC).
In 2005, the FBI opened an investigation of AIPAC after allegations some AIPAC personnel transferred classified documents to Israel.
