In a coordinated effort, IDF and Palestinian police rescued a Bedouin soldier who went shopping in Jenin, a hostile West Bank Palestinian town
Palestinian police transferred Israeli Bedouin soldier, found walking around Jenin, to IDF custody Friday. Military Police took the soldier in for questioning.
Wearing his IDF uniform trousers and carrying his weapon, the soldier stood out among local crowd. Palestinian policemen noticed him and picked him up after reporting his whereabouts to the IDF.
The soldier said he entered Jenin, an infamous terrorist hotbed, to go shopping. He has a week left to complete his three-year mandatory service.
Against orders
Military orders strictly forbid Israeli citizens and soldiers from entering areas under the security responsibility of the Palestinian police (A-territories).
