From PMS to SMS

Israeli women sure know how to push all the right buttons, a poll shows: Ynetnews gives you the digits

Girl talk is louder than ever, but still strangely silent.

An Israeli poll showed that 41 percent of women use SMS, or text messaging, on their cell phones as opposed to 33 percent of men.

The survey, conducted by Beeper Communications Israel, a Motorola affiliated company, also showed that 49 percent of the ultra-Orthodox population declared they used SMS on a regular basis, compared to 41 percent of secular Israelis.

While 43 percent of the respondents said they text-message mainly their friends, 29 percent said they send most of their SMS’s to family members. Six percent said they message their romantic partners.

In addition, five percent of the respondents said they only send SMS’s in an emergency, and another five percent said they only send job-related messages.
