Palestinian assailant shot to death

TEL AVIV - A Palestinian man was shot to death by IDF troops Monday after attempting to stab a soldier at a roadblock south of the West Bank town of Tul Karm.
The man aroused soldiers’ suspicions as he approached the checkpoint and was asked to stop, but failed to comply with the soldiers’ instructions and instead pulled out a knife.
The troops fired warning shots in the air, but the Palestinian ignored the fire and continued to approach them, eventually assaulting one soldier. At that point, the troops opened fire and killed the man.
No IDF soldiers were hurt in the incident.
Palestinian girl detained Sunday
Meanwhile, army official say they are seeing a renewed effort by Palestinians to carry out attack and stabbings in the West Bank.
On Sunday, troops in the West Bank town of Hebron detained a suspicious 17-year-old Palestinian girl and discovered a knife in her bag. The girl was later taken in for questioning by security authorities.
