Nuke secrets may have been stolen

‘Trojan Horse’ computer espionage scandal now covers poaching of sketches and equations meant for nuclear reactor in Dimona

In the course of investigating the “Trojan Horse” business espionage case, police found files belonging to Israeli water purifying companies on the computer servers in England and Germany.

This discovery lead investigators to the Mey Eden mineral water company, whose officials said that business secrets were stolen by rival Tami 4. When police interrogated the CEO of Tami 4, they discovered that the company had also stolen material from another rival, Gal Al Water Machines.

That’s when the case took a national security turn.

From water coolers to nukes

Gal Al CEO Baruch Zisser told police that the stolen materials were taken from a computer containing details of secret water separation project for the Dimona nuclear reactor. If those plans got into enemy hands, they could be used to help produce a hydrogen bomb, said Zisser.

So far, there is no proof that the sensitive plans were in fact stolen, but police are still investigating.
