Israeli security forces may have foiled Monday's attempt by the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade to bomb Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva, but group leader Abu Musab remains optimistic the next suicide bomber will succeed at "shaking the Israelis up." Abu Musab told Ynet, "it makes no difference to us if we derail the disengagement, withdrawal, or anything else. We know the Israelis are doing everything in order to continue hitting (Palestinian) opposition leaders. We have no problem returning to the battle field and to become shahids (martyrs) for Allah." He also said his group is undeterred in the face of likely Palestinian opposition to a renewed bombing campaign, but said his group would continue fighting for what he called the "honor of Islam", and for Palestine. Why now? Abu Musab explains, "until now, we were completely committed to maintaining the calm. But we see Israel's actions against the Palestinian people continuing, and the heretics such as (U.S. Secretary of State Condaleeza) Rice and others who visit the area do their best to plot against Palestinians and muslims. "First of all, this is a reaction to (Israel's) non-stop attempts to hurt the al-Aqsa Mosque and desecrate the Koran. It is also our reaction to Israel's daily and ongoing murder of Palestinians."
