Philadelphi Route soon to come under Egyptian control

Is Israel leaving the Philadelphi Route? On Monday, the Foreign Ministry worked out a deal with the Egyptians, whereby they station 750 troops along the border between the two countries.
Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad represented the Ministry's political-military office in talks with the Egyptians about their placing 750 troops along 14 kilometers of borderland, including the Philadelphi Route.
The specific protocols for the forces will be signed by colonels from both sides.

Security experts, including Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, have said that the IDF must leave the Philadelphi Route as part of disengagement.
Once the Egyptian security personnel take their positions, it is expected that the IDF will wihdraw.
