IDF sources said the army spent three hours warning the youths to disperse and confirmed soldiers fired a warning shot, but said the incident ended with no injuries.

The Palestinians however reported one fatality from the clash, 24-year-old Nimar al-Sauduni.

Palestinian news agencies said that the youths were injured while “playing soccer,” but photographs from the incident show the youths attempting to infiltrate the evacuated settlement.

Another report says that Palestinian police officers were the ones who dispersed the youths.

Also Tuesday, an Israeli civilian was lightly injured in the leg from a grenade explosion on the Israeli–Egyptian border.

Palestinians threw three grenades at soldiers and civilians carrying out engineering work in the area.

The injured man received medical treatment in hospital.
