PA: We will not preserve Gush Katif synagogues
The office of Palestinian Authority Charmain Mahmoud Abbas has denied Israel’s request that the Palestinians protect and preserve the deserted synagogues in Gush Katif.
Dov Weisglass, senior aide to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, turned to the Palestinians following the High Court decision that called on the government to turn to Palestinian and international officials in a bid to preserve the synagogues. (Tal Rosner)
