'Current deal brings international recognition to our technological achievements'

Solar energy company lands U.S. deal

Solel Solar Systems Ltd to supply technology able to produce solar electricity to Nevada homes

Solel Solar Systems Ltd, leaders in solar thermal technology for central power generation, is set to supply NIS 50 million worth of solar technology to an American energy project.

The technology developed by the Israeli-owned company with subsidiaries in the United States is based on thousands of units for the reception and conduction of thermo-solar energy. The essentiality of solar power plants developed by Solel is their capability to generate environmental-friendly electricity.

The project will benefit some 150, 000 Nevada homes.

“The current deal brings international recognition to our technological achievements and signals the start of a shift from conventional electricity to green electricity,” said Avi Brenmiller, Solel’s CEO.

“Solel is in negotiations with a number of governments and energy companies to supply similar units and setting up solar stations. We believe more and more countries are alarmed by the decline in petrol reserves and air pollution from conventional electricity will seek our solution,” he added.

Solel has so far set up nine commercial solar stations in California, generating 250 Mega-Watts for over half a million people.

Solar was established in 1992 by a group of engineers and scientists and employs about 90 people at its research and development center in Beit Shemesh.
