Rightists' leaflet: PM candidates in kaffiyahs

Members of National Jewish Front party distribute leaflets across country with pictures of Olmert, Peretz, Netanyahu wearing square cotton headkerchiefs, usually worn by Arabs; headline reads, ‘Find the differences'

Leaflets bearing pictures of Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu and Labor Party Chairman Amir Peretz wearing kaffiyahs – square cotton headkerchiefs, which are usually worn by Arabs – were distributed Monday morning across the country by members of the extreme right-wing National Jewish Front party, headed by Baruch Marzel.

The headline above the pictures reads "Find the differences."

The leaflets were distributed in response to lectures delivered Sunday by Netanyahu and Peretz.

Marzel told Ynet that "after hearing the Likud and Labor's political platforms, we are convinced that it is the same thing in a different guise. Olmert, Netanyahu and Peretz are dangerous to Israel."

Party sources told Ynet that "we established a PR and strategic team that decided to go with an aggressive line of action, which does what it wants regardless of any party and any politician."

"In the next few weeks we plan on distributing ads slamming politicians who call themselves right-wing, but once they are elected, deride the Land of Israel on a regular basis," a source said.

Poll: About 12 percent might vote for Marzel

Meanwhile, the party ordered a public opinion poll conducted by the Mutagim polling company.

Approximately 500 respondents were asked the following question: The National Jewish Front party, which fights for the wholeness of the country and for the sovereignty of the Jewish people over the Land of Israel and encourages the expulsion of enemies from the Land of Israel, is expected to run in the upcoming elections. What are the chances that you would consider voting for them?

About 1.5 percent of the respondents said that they would definitely vote for the party, while 10.6 percent answered that there was a good chance that they would vote for it.
