IDF drone crashes: An unmanned army aircraft crashed in the Nablus area Monday evening owing to a technical problem, army sources said. The drone contained no classified information, according to the army.
Palestinian sources reported that the drone fell on the home of a Palestinian journalist at the outskirts of the Balata refugee camp. Drone fragments were reportedly scattered around the home.
Neighbors and Palestinian eyewitnesses said that numerous area youths who arrived at the site collected the pieces of the aircraft and its camera. In a talk with Ynet, Palestinians said "the drone fell on its own and was not fired at."
The IDF has been operating at the Balata refugee camp for three days now, and the drone may have been in the area in the framework of the ongoing operation.
At this time, Palestinian youngsters are apparently attempting to make sense of the drone pieces they were able to collect.
