Cleared for publication: A day after security forces captured a would-be suicide bomber on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway, authorities nabbed another Palestinian terrorist en route to launching an attack.
Forces also arrested the brother of the terrorist nabbed Tuesday, as well as a resident of the Arab-Israeli town of Umm al-Fahm who assisted him.
Wednesday morning, a special IDF unit detained in Ramallah a Palestinian who planned to carry out a suicide attack along with two people who assisted him. The detained would-be bomber belongs to a Tanzim cell in Nablus and was arrested en route to Jerusalem, where he was supposed to receive the explosive belt.
At this time, authorities are unsure whether the terrorist planned to detonate himself in Jerusalem or at a central Israel target. All three suspects were taken in for interrogation.
On Tuesday, Jerusalem District Police Commander Ilan Franco said security forces were contending with another terror warning in addition to the hot pursuit on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway.
At this time, defense officials are dealing with 13 concrete warnings about plans to carry out terror attacks.
Meanwhile, the Jerusalem District is on high alert, a deployment that will continue in the coming days.
