Qassam fire toward Israel continues despite IDF’s extensive activity against rocket cells in northern Gaza. Eight Qassams fired toward Israel Wednesday; no injuries were reported, but some damage was caused to greenhouses. Western Negev resident says 'we hear the IDF and the Palestinians firing simultaneously, which is an absurd situation in itself'
Earlier, another rocket was fired from the northern Strip. Officials estimate the Qassam landed in an area between two southern kibbutzim. No injuries or damages were reported in that attack.
On Wednesday, Palestinians fired eight Qassam rockets at Gaza-region communities.
In recent days, IDF forces boosted their anti-Qassam campaign in the framework of the "Southern Arrow" operation.
"We need plenty of patience and there's no doubt the message will be internalized over time," a senior source told Ynet. "We won't see a situation of zero Qassams, but something will happen on the other side."
The IDF says it already detected a change in Qassam cells' conduct in light of the army's activity. For one thing, Qassam launching cells are staying away from the beach area for fear of being hit by navy vessels, the IDF said.
According to the army, only a few cells are carrying out the attacks, while the terrorists are having a tough time moving around the Strip.
"The Southern Command is using all IDF arms in a very small geographical area," the source said. "Persistence and patience will also bring results."
