Matrix recruits Haredi women

Company expands development center, recruits 100 additional ultra-Orthodox women; work environment complies with rabbis' instructions

Matrix, a subsidiary of the Formula group, plans to recruit 100 ultra-Orthodox women to its expanding development and quality assurance center, the Talpiot Division.

Matrix is aiming to recruit Haredi women with technological background to integrate in software development and QA.

Currently, Matrix employs 200 women in the project.

Hila Tal, director of Human Resources of the Talpiot division said: "Many Haredi women are interested in ways to integrate into the project and we view the project as a career track for the women in the long run, especially in light of the accelerated growth and the need for more workers on all levels. Starting work in the project is the first step toward advancing into more professional and managerial positions, as the women gain experience and as the division receives more projects."

The integration and software company is offering the women courses and an opportunity for a career change into the most advanced technology in different tracks.

To begin with, the company offers the women a compensation of minimum wage plus five percent. Additionally, Matrix receives from the government a grant of NIS 1,000 (about USD 220) for each woman it employs. The cost of employing the women is very low compared to regular high-tech salaries.
