IDF kills gunman in Nablus

Army forces shoot, kill al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades member Raed Tubela during Nablus arrest raid; six other activists wounded in operation

An al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades activist, Raed Tubela, 26, was killed and another six wanted Palestinian terrorists were wounded in an IDF overnight operation in Nablus.

The incident took place during an arrest raid carried out in the West Bank town Thursday night, in which Palestinian gunmen opened fire at army forces in two occasions. None of the soldiers were injured and no damage was reported.

In the course of the operation the troops identified a Palestinian gunman, Tubela, and shot at his direction. The activist sustained serious injuries and died on the way to the hospital. An inspection conducted by the IDF revealed that Tubela was a wanted Fatah member.

In a separate operation, an IDF force besieged overnight a Tul Karm house where wanted terrorists were hiding. During the blockade three of the activists attempted an escape. One was detained and the other two managed to return inside the building.

The two activists and another wanted suspect had eventually turned themselves in to the troops. In the course of the operation the Palestinians hurled explosive devices at the soldiers. No injuries were reported.

One Popular Front activist was nabbed north of Ramallah on Friday. All suspects were transferred to a security forces interrogation.
