Palestinian caught with Hizbullah memory card

Security officers manning Allenby Bridge apprehend woman carrying memory card with Hizbullah information on how to assemble weapons she planned to pass on to her son in West Bank

A few days ago security officers manning the Allenby Bridge between Israel and Jordan apprehended a Palestinian woman carrying a memory card with Hizbullah information stored on it.

The woman planned to transfer the chip, which held information on how to assemble weapons, to her son in the Samaria area. The chip was confiscated and the woman was taken in for questioning.

Security establishment officials said the incident is part of an extensive effort by terror groups to relay information into the West Bank.

In October 2005 three Qassam rocket makers, members of the Popular Resistance Committees, were apprehended as they were making their way from Gaza top Jenin to pass on knowledge on the establishment of a rocket-manufacturing operation in the West Bank. The cell members were carrying a “disk on key” with instructional material from Hizbullah on how to prepare explosives and bombs.

On Friday Hamas' spokesman in Gaza, Sami Abu Zuhri, was caught in the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza with a large quantity of money he attempted to smuggle into Gaza.

According to one report, Abu Zuhri, who is one of the senior leaders of Hamas in Gaza, had Euro 640,000 on his person. Another report claimed he held a larger sum of Euro 900,000 Euro.

The money was discovered by European monitors on the border and confiscated by Palestinian security officials. The cash was hidden in a special belt worn by Abu Zuhri, and while trying to cross the border, the belt fell, and the money was uncovered by the monitors.
