After the big success of Ushpizin, rumors are that filmmakers Shuli and Michal Rand have plans to turn the film into a Broadway musical.
Ultra-orthodox rapper Matisyahu has been tipped for the leading role.
"The production is in initial stages; I prefer not to speak about who is taking part and who isn't," Michal said.
Matisyahu, who will support Sting in Ramat Gan on Thursday, said he knows nothing of the report.
"I never heard that Ushpizin is being turned into a musical in which I am included. But I saw the film and it is great. I was touched by it and cried. The film showed some positive sides of Jewsih-religious life. We don't see this much," Matisyahu said.
