There is no reason for it to suffer," he added. Peretz continued: "I am a resident of Sderot and outside my house demonstrations are being held by citizens who are some of my friends and my families and the neighborhood I grew up in. I want to make it clear that escalation is not an objective, and neither is restraint, and we should aspire to reach peace and quiet." "We have conveyed the messages to the Palestinians through international elements. No restraint is something infinite. The restraint in the past 24 hours is a restraint aimed at conveying a message. We demand peace and we have the ability to provide must more painful responses. At the moment the forces focusing their efforts, so I ask that no one delude themselves. I want to bring peace and quiet," he said.
