VIDEO - Nobel Prize winning professor Yisrael Aumann on Tuesday praised soldier Hananel Dayan, who refused to shake hands with IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz due to his opposition to the disengagement. "There is a Bolshevist trend here. It must be opposed through all means and will all our strength," said Aumann. A few hundred right-wing activists arrived at a conference in honor of Sergeant Dayan in Jerusalem. During the meeting, Knesset Member Arieh Eldad (National Union-National Religious Party) welcomed Dayan's act, saying: "He guaranteed his life in the world to come." According to the meeting's organizers, Dayan sanctified the name of God with a public act of protest, and spoke for hundreds of thousands of Jews who oppose "the chief of staff of eviction Dan Halutz." MK Eldad: State is ours The conference also marked the opening shot for the struggle against West Bank outposts, the organizers said, a struggle to rescue the nation and the land, in their words. Dayan himself did not attend the conference, as he was forbidden by the military from doing so. His father Yosef arrived at the conference in order to collect the prize of USD 4,500 awarded to his son, along with a certificate of recognition. The certificate was awarded by soldier Yosi Tzilnek, who called on soldiers to refuse orders when they came to clear the outpost near Yitzhar, and Rabbi Amital Barali, who served as an IDF rabbi, and called on soldiers on the eve of the disengagement not to block the entrance to Gush Katif. Knesset Member Eldad said: "We came to honor Hananel... There is a deep rift between the people and the army. But we are being drafted into the army, we want the State of Israel to go on. I'm not willing to give up on the State and the flag. It is ours and we won't give up until they leave."
