Peretz to Rice: Syrian president must use influence on Hamas to free soldier
Defense Minister Amir Peretz spoke with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice Saturday and asked her to pressure Syria regarding the kidnapped soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit.
Peretz said: “Syria cannot evade responsibility. Syrian President Bashar Assad must use his influence on Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal to gain the soldier’s release.” (Hanan Greenberg)
