Air Force chief: More attacks to come

Israel Air Force chief, Maj.-Gen. Elyezer Shkedy, warns Hizbullah on Sunday: 'I suggest the other side think about every alternative the air force possesses'; says Hizbullah has thousands more rockets

Israel Air Force chief Elyezer Shkedy warned Hizbullah on Sunday that Israel's military campaign in Lebanon is but a small fraction of its full capability

"The whole campaign until now represents only a small fraction of the air force and the IDF's capabilities," Shkedy said.

He threatened Hizbullah: "The decision of what to do and with which intensity is reserved to the government of Israel and I suggest the other side think about the alternatives the Israeli air force possesses."

'Not targeting civilians'

Speaking about the threat of rockets being fired at Israel, Shkedy said: "We know they have a lot of rockets, some of which we hit at the beginning of the attack a few days ago. But they still have a lot of all kinds. We understand the war on two levels: To deal with the rocket fire and try to locate them and hit them."

He added that the IDF has been instructed to destroy Hizbullah's military capability, which he said "took many years to build."

The IDF is also dealing a blow to Hamas' terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

Shkedy said air force warplanes carried out 1,000 air raids and helicopter gunships executed 350 sorties.

Shkedy didn't speak about Lebanese civilians killed in Israeli air raids.

He said that so long Syria is not directly involved in battle, Israel will not attack it.

Shkedy stressed that the air force is targeting terrorists in Gaza on a daily bases in conjunction with ground forces.
