Terrorists fired at houses in the northern community of Metula Wednesday evening. The IDF is looking to the possibility that the shooting was carried out in the framework of an infiltration attempt into the place.

The incident took place just hours after two soldiers were killed and another nine have been injured – two sustained moderate wounds
and the others were lightly injured – in a clash between a Maglan unit and a terror cell near the community of Avivim in the border area.

Eyewitnesses reported of shooting from a light weapon that was carried out at the direction of Metula houses. No injuries were reported in the incident. IDF forces are currently scanning the area. A rocket was also launched at the area at about the same time.

Magen David Adom reported that thus far 76 people were wounded by rocket strikes in the northern valley area. Among the wounded, 26 suffered from shock.

The wounded were evacuated to the Haemek Hospital in Afula, and the Italian an British Hospitals in Nazareth.
