French singer Keren Ann will arrive in Israel
at the beginning of next week to bolster those sitting in shelter in the north and the residents of cities surrounding Gaza.
Keren Ann grew up in Israel
until age 11, when she moved to France with her family. In recent years, she has enjoyed great success and has turned into one of outstanding voices of contemporary music in France. The singer has performed in Israel a number of times in the past.
Israir Airlines has volunteered to help fly the singer to Israel and have scheduled her for a round of performances in shelter in the north. The Ministry of Tourism promised to finance her board in Israel.
Avishar Sabir, Keren Ann's representative in Israel, said, "It's true. Keren Ann will arrive in Israel at the beginning of next week. It is a fairly large production that has taken off in almost no time, so we still haven't set a schedule or names of villages. The idea is to get to places that need a morale boost."
In response to the question if the singer is afraid to perform in villages on the line of fire, Sabir said, "Not at all. To the contrary. She is psyched to come here and show the world that there is nothing to be afraid of. Apparently these are her Israeli genes awakening in difficult times."
