Nasrallah: Israelis hit nothing

(VIDEO)Hizbullah chief breaks silence of days, addresses huge IDF attack on Beirut bunker: ‘Hizbullah leadership wasn't hit at all,' he says. 'We are following events and responding exactly in the place and time of our choosing'; Nasrallah apologizes to family of two children killed by Katyusha attack on Nazareth: 'We consider them shahids for Palestine,' he says

VIDEO - After a few days of silence Hizbullah Chief Hassan Nasrallah again positioned himself against the camera – this time to the Al-Jazeera Arab television network.

During the interview Nasrallah denied any harm to the Hizbullah leadership, and added that he would refuse to release the two kidnapped IDF soldiers unless Israel releases prisoners.

As usual, he promised "additional surprises." The interview was previously recorded.

According to Nasrallah, the leadership of Hizbullah was not hit during the Air Force bombing Wednesday night. Nasrallah also denied that 50 percent of the organization's capabilities were erased and added that more surprises were on their way.

"This is not an exaggeration and it's not psychological warfare. The Hizbullah leadership wasn't hit at all - not in yesterday evening's attack. There was a huge number of planes and they hoped they would hit us but it was wrong. All of the reports of the Israelis, that they struck 50 percent of our capabilities, are not true. They didn't succeed up to no in hitting anything in this range. Hizbullah up to now has stood firm, it is succeeding in absorbing the attacks, in return its own attacks, and it will return more in the future," Nasrallah said.

'Victory for the whole Arab nation'

"On the ground level Hizbullah is fighting quietly, with determination, and without baseless threats," he added.

"We are following the events with precision and we are responding in the time and place of our choosing," Nasrallah said.

The Hizbullah leader also said that "even if the whole world comes – we won't release the two soldiers, unless it is through indirect negotiations and a prisoners exchange."

"The result of the battle in which Hizbullah is involved, whether it is positive or negative, will be the result of the whole Arab nation. If Hizbullah wins – it will be a victory for the whole Arab nation. And if it loses – it is a loss for the whole Arab nation," he said.

Hizbullah Chief Hassan Nasrallah sent his condolences to the family of the two children killed on Wednesday by a Katyusha rocket in Nazareth.

“I apologize to the family,” he told Al-Jazeera. “We consider them shahids for Palestine.”

Rassan Bin Jido, the Al-Jazeera reporter who interviewed Nasrallah, was unable to identify the place to which he was led.

The curtains in the room in which the interview was conducted were closed, making it difficult to identify the place in which the interview was held. The reporter added that Nasrallah acted naturally and calmly.
