4 UN peacekeepers hurt In Israeli fighting with Hizbullah

Israeli fighting with Hizbullah wounded four UN peacekeepers on Monday, the UN said, as Secretary-General Kofi Annan requested that the mission's mandate be extended by one month.

Despite the violence and severe restrictions on the soldiers' movements, the UN Department of Peacekeeping has no intention of removing the 1,990 peacekeepers stationed near the Blue Line, a UN-determined demarcation separating Israel and Lebanon, officials said. (AP)
