Terror attack in central Israel foiled
In parallel to ongoing fighting in north and south, security forces on Sunday thwart terror attack in central Israel. Terrorist captured with explosive belt in West Bank taxi. Defense establishment currently holds 16 concrete warnings
Cleared for publication: Following warnings and intelligence information received by the defense establishment, a terror attack in Israel was foiled Sunday. A taxi was captured in the West Bank with an explosive belt. The terrorist and his driver were taken into interrogation.
While security forces are fighting in the northern and southern fronts, fighting continues in the West Bank following the large number of warnings on terror organizations' plans to carry out terror attacks inside Israel and create a third front.
On Sunday morning, the defense establishment received a concrete warning on a plan to carry out a terror attack in Israel from the West Bank. Immediately upon receiving the information, IDF soldiers set up roadblocks in the West Bank.
A Palestinian taxi was captured near the settlement of Shavei Shomron, containing an explosive belt. The terrorist and his driver were taken into interrogation by security forces. Sappers were dispatched to the area to detonate the explosive belt in a controlled manner.
