France and Britain: UN should call for immediate ceasefire
France, Britain and other nations in the Security Council met in an attempt to reach a resolution that would call for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hizbullah.
President of the Security Council, French ambassador Jean Marc de la Sabliere, told reporters, prior to the council meeting, that "we hope that the Security Council will not only address the drama and suffering of citizens of both sides, but also will work towards a stable solution.
