Qassam in Ashkelon: 1 person injured

Worker sustains light to moderate wounds from shrapnel, after rocket lands in Ashkelon industrial zone
Shmulik Hadad|
A Qassam rocket landed Wednesday morning in the Ashkelon industrial zone. One person sustained light-to-moderate injuries from shrapnel. He was treated by Magen David Adom paramedics and then evacuated to the hospital. Police sappers were dispatched to the scene.
Workers at the industrial area said that the siren, which is usually activated by security officers when a Qassam is launched, was not set off this time. "I heard a very loud blast. This was the loudest explosion ever heard in this area," one of the employees said.
"The rocket landed near a car that was parked here, and a worker that was standing there has been injured. The car itself also sustained damages, as well as other vehicles nearby. I believe that a great disaster could have occurred here," he stated.
More rockets Tuesday
Six rockets were fired Tuesday morning at the western Negev area. One of the rockets directly hit a house in kibbutz Nahal Oz, causing damage but no injuries. Another rocket landed in an open area in the kibbutz.
Two more rockets landed in an open field in kibbutz Nir Am, one hitting near the local dairy farm. No injuries were reported in this incident as well.
Additionally, two rockets were fired at Qassam-stricken Sderot, and one landed at the yard of a house in town. The house itself was damaged, but its residents sustained no injuries. The second Qassam landed in an open field.
