Hizbullah on Wednesday night fired a rocket barrage at the north, which landed in the area of Ma'alot. A house was directly hit in a community near the town, while a rocket landed in the yard of another house. A building was directly hit also in a village near Ma'alot.

About an hour after the rockets landed in the north, eyewitnesses in Lebanon reported that the Israel Defense Forces resumed its air strikes in Beirut. According to the report, aircrafts fired at least four missiles at the Dahiya neighborhood in southern Beirut, considered "Hizbullah's stronghold."

At around 1:30 a.m., an air raid siren was heard in Carmiel and Western Galilee communities, and residents were called to enter bomb shelters and reinforced rooms. MDA crews searched the nearby streets to make sure that there were no more injured people.

Shortly afterwards, two rockets landed in a community near Ma'alot. One of the rockets directly hit a house and another one landed in a yard. Several people suffered from shock.

Firefighters from the Western Galilee also arrived at one of the villages in the Ma'alot area, where a house was reportedly directly hit by a rocket, which caused a lot of damage. The crews assisted MDA teams in attending to the people who suffered from shock in the area.

This was the first time since the onset of the fighting that Hizbullah fired at an area inside the north in the middle of the night. Until now, terrorists only fired at night toward communities located near the border fence.
