Cabinet gives Olmert, Peretz jurisdiction to dictate extent of operations

The cabinet granted Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, and Defense Minister, Amir Peretz, the jurisdiction to dictate the extent of continued IDF operations in Lebanon.
The three cabinet members who abstained from voting on the issue were Shimon Peres and Ophir Pines-Paz, as well as Eliyahu Yishai, who demanded an end to the blind pounding in south Lebanon and claimed that "what has been done so far is not enough." (Ronny Sofer)
