Israel releases Palestinian minister arrested with senior Hamas operatives
Israel released Hamas member and Palestinian Labor Minister Muhammad Barghouti, who was under arrest in Israel for the past six weeks. Barghouti was among several Palestinian ministers arrested by IDF forces during an operation in Ramallah in which some 60 Hamas operatives, including the ministers, were taken into custody.
Upon his release, Barghouti said that "They found nothing to charge me with. This was a political arrest. Israel must release the movement's other senior officials." (Ali Waked and news agencies)
