In discussion held Thursday evening, Attorney General Manchem Mazuz decides to indict Justice Minister Ramon on suspicion of indecent assault against governmental office employee. Ramon's message followed a decision to try him over suspicions of carrying out an indecent act without mutual consent. Ramon asked for his trial to begin immediately.
On Thursday Attorney General Mazuz told Ramon that he decided to place him on criminal trial. He gave the opportunity to hold a hearing before taking a final decision on the matter. Ramon responded by saying he would weight the matter. "I am sure of my innocence. The court will prove it," he said, after announcing his resignation.
Ramon asked for his trial to begin as soon possible for the public interest. He said that he was sure he could prove to the court that "two-three second kiss" according to the version of the accuser could not turn into an act with criminal intentions.
Last month, the episode came to light when a court edict was lifted on the complaint lodged against the justice minister.
H, a young woman who does not work in his office, but worked in Ramon's office recently, accused Ramon of trying to kiss her aggressively after having their photograph taken together. She says she did not forcefully because "I didn't know what to do with myself."
